The Agricultural Product Processing Laboratory is one of the laboratories located in the Department of Agricultural Product Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The Agricultural Product Processing Laboratory in carrying out its functions is in line with Unila's mission and PS THP's mission, that is:
- organize professional education in the field of agricultural product technology;
- carry out research in the field of agricultural technology, especially superior products of Lampung Province;
- carry out sustainable community service in the field of agricultural product technology; and
- carry out mutually beneficial cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions in the field of agricultural products.
In addition, the PHP laboratory as an educational laboratory in carrying out its functions must be in line with the objectives of the THP PS, namely:
- Producing professional graduates in the field of agricultural product technology
- To produce knowledge and technology in the field of THP, especially the superior products of Lampung Province
- Increase the knowledge and skills of the community, especially in the field of THP so that their welfare also increases
- produce mutually beneficial cooperation with various other parties inside and outside the country in an effort to improve the quality of higher education tridharma activities and the competitiveness of THP.
The PHP Laboratory is led by a head who is appointed and dismissed by the Chancellor at the suggestion of the Dean after receiving consideration from the faculty senate. The head of the laboratory is a lecturer whose expertise meets the requirements in accordance with a particular branch of science, technology and/or the arts who is responsible to the head of the department. The head of the laboratory is appointed for an unspecified term of office. The procedure for selecting the head of the laboratory is stipulated by the Chancellor's regulation. The head of the laboratory can make rules for the use of the laboratory.
The laboratory is a technical implementing element that supports the implementation of research, education and community service tasks in one branch of science, technology and art in accordance with the requirements in a particular field of science/technology/art. The laboratory has the function of preparing supporting facilities to carry out education, research and community service in one or part of the branches of technology and in accordance with the needs of certain fields of art science/technology/art to carry out its duties and functions, the laboratory has a group of technicians/laborers consisting of of 3 (three) Laboratory Staff and 2 cleaners.
Unila's THP PHP Laboratory has facilities and infrastructure consisting of agricultural product processing equipment and a series of testing equipment.
This laboratory provides an opportunity for students to learn to apply the knowledge they have acquired theoretically, especially in areas of expertise by applying the physical properties of agricultural materials, processing and product development, as well as mastering the skills and application of chemical and biochemical properties (changes during the processing ).
